I also recommend these tutorials as they cover how to use the TDESCs, how to make a basic interaction, etc. S4S tutorial list: /thread/662/index-studio-tutorials-online-manualĪnd then depending on what you want to make, there's either a tutorial or there isn't, it just depends, lol. category/the-sims-4/how-to-create-a-mod/

Notepad++: WinMerge: /questions/3653/whats-a-good-mac-equivalent-of-winmergeįor Mod Constructor, I found these threads about getting it to run on Macs: /showthread.php?t=626914į/en_US/discussion/959523/mac-version-of-zerbus-mod-constructor S4S = Sims4Studio btw, which you can download here with a Mac version: /thread/6065/sims-studio-apple-blossom-open I did a quick search on Google for you for alternatives, etc.

MODS SIMS 4 MAC MODS
So it all comes down to the type of mods you want to make.Įven though you're on Mac, I recommend following this tutorial for a list of programs and researching alternatives/similar programs, or running them through a virtual machine like Wine, etc.: /0/create-mod-programs-modding/

If you want to make basic mods though, like changing the percentage of something, or removing something, etc., that's easily done in S4S. You can do everything it can in S4S and with injectors, buuut that makes things harder for beginners. Mod Constructor, for example, is not available for Macs and is the recommended program for beginners wanting to make large mods, traits, events, aspirations, etc. Unfortunately, being a Mac user there are some programs that aren't available for you without some workarounds, so depending on what you want to make can lead to problems. (Sorry, this may be an obvious question but I am quite stoned and my narcolepsy meds have worn off and as an Australian I know that if I end up getting stuck and post it while I'm awake most other people will be sleeping lol) But I would also want other sims to have like the option of 'calm down from panic attack' or 'offer reassurance' and stuff like that?Īnd like I think I know how to do it, but also a lot of the guides are using software that you can't get on mac and I was wondering what to do if you only have a mac? I know that the sims 4 studio exists but like does it work with doing something like this I almost just wanna be able to read everything in a raw text editor is that something it can do?

Or like chance of having flashbacks etc at certain times. And the trait would trigger moodlets in certain situations, like for example waking up they'd have like a 10% chance of having nightmares, etc., or like would get tense around certain trigger objects/interactions/sims? (I imagine for objects it could be like the aura feature but like idk specified to one sim? would that work?). Like ok my ideal, possibly unachievable dream way that this mod would run would be that like when a sim witnesses/experiences a like stressful event like fire etc, would sort of run a check with a probability of like 10% to add the PTSD trait? With it like increasing by 20% each time they experience the same thing (like first time it's only 10%, then 30%, then 50, etc). Hey guys! So I'm new to modding in general (I've got programming experience tho - Objective C, C#, C++, Java, SQL, I did like a year of an IT degree three years back b4 I became disabled) and was looking for advice on like a) how does one mod on a mac and b) like how would one make custom interactions? I've seen a lot of guides for traits and stuff, but I am wanting to do a PTSD mod where you add a trait that not only triggers like moodlets but like can also trigger custom interactions? Or can someone point me to a tutorial for this?
